“So what happened?”

“The building exploded, but the very moment I thought I was going to die, some sort of bubble formed around me?” It comes out more of a question than a statement, but Sally just nods encouragingly as she pours water into two mugs. She puts in a teabag in both, and puts one on the table. “And just like that, I was claimed a Daughter.”

and now she has shot one of their own. By accident. The moment haunts her, the words ring in her ears. 'Take the shot'. The moment she realised nothing would ever be the same again. The Service offers counselling service - which mostly doesn't help, but it does bring her to a place where she can start to fix something else entirely.
